After faffing about and discovering a decent workflow, it is time to announce an album featuring one track to address each of the colors’ struggles. The rainbow is often observed in the shape of a bridge; as such it can highlight the transition from one place to another in a spiritual sense. The most notable transition marked by a seven-colored rainbow is the guarantee that genocide would never be used against humans ever again.
The first track – Rood Awakening – entertains the foundation of the metaphysical bridge just as red is the foundation of the visible bridge. The themes of this track encompass the awareness of the transition from birth to death; a truly inescapable transition. Existential dread and nihilism can sprout from a sense that nothing is to be trusted if the purpose of birth is to merely die, and the universe is indifferent to our struggles.
Rood awakens to the sense that it is better to live a life where one’s death is not merely a trite anecdote, but punctuates a statement that bolsters the living.
